Support Taiwan

I took these pictures in a protest, september, 2005. The theme of the protest was “Strengthen Defense Safeguard Taiwan.” It was the love for Taiwan and democracy that had brought people to the protest. The old man, waving his flag with smile, the joy reflected from his face caught my eye. He believed in Taiwan and democracy since he was young till now. His love for democracy will never die, it will continue flaming. Many people like him stoop up to speak out for the thing they were striving for, which is democracy. I witnessed the moment at which Taiwanese were fighting a good fight with joy and peace.
Taiwan stands as a beacon of democracy for Asia. We need to continue to believe in ourselves, for there are many individuals in the world who support Taiwan.
